Additional information
Iara joined the BMDS lab as a postdoctoral fellow in October 2023. Her research primarily focuses on identifying pathophysiological mechanisms underlying chronic pain by analyzing multidimensional data. In addition, her work aims to identify biomarkers that could predict the efficacy of pain treatments. Coming from a background in health sciences and technology, with a specialization in neuroscience, Iara completed her PhD at Balgrist University Hospital, focusing on the neurophysiology of pain. During her PhD studies, she gained valuable clinical insights into various chronic pain conditions, including complex regional pain syndrome, low back pain and neuropathic pain after spinal cord injury.
